Everyone I know is either prepping to send their kids to school, prepping their home school plans, or just buying school supplies for some reason. We’re new to the school stuff. Mostly homeschooling here but eventually we’re going to test out the murky waters of public school. Homeschooling isn’t as easy as some people think, as you have to do some level of planning to make sure that your children learn the necessary things that they need to know in order to excel in education. At one point, we contemplated following something similar to the Primary Montessori Day School’s curriculum to make sure that we were on the right track. But I don’t think it will be long until we decide to try out sending our children to public school so they have a chance to socialize with children who are of a similar age. And I’m expecting there to be a lot of planning that goes into this too. Somewhere in the chaos I think moms forget about their own supplies. But let’s not do that this time. Let’s prep ourselves too! I’ve stocked my favorites and have made some life changes so that we don’t get sucked up in the chaos winds and spit out exhausted. Not today satan! Not today.
It’s cheaper if you make it at home, right?!? So prep for that situation. Doesn’t matter if you’re a Nespresso or Keurig kinda mom, get you a new cute coffee mug and be prepped and ready each morning!
You don’t have to invest anything. But I suggest finding or creating some Spotify playlists for any opportunity that music might help life. Morning playlist, evening playlist, carpool playlist, moms-going-to-scream playlist.
I know everyone has their opinion on calendars, I’m personally obsessed with the Simplified Planner by Emily Ley. Digital or paper? Personal or wall? Tons of options and whatever you decide, just figure it out and USE IT WELL. You didn’t spend money on a calendar to keep it perfectly pretty and organized, you bought it so that you could somehow manage life. So use it! Sure, add some pretty stickers and use colorful pens but just do what works for you. What actually works.
Is an explanation of this really necessary?
Even if you’re not rocking a minivan, you still have to have your car ready. Mom taxi, mom mobile, whatever you’re calling it….it probably needs a little summer clean out and school prepping.
A good book // You might be sitting and waiting at some point in your day. Stop the scroll and get in a book! A book for you! If you need some ideas, I’ve got you covered. BOOKS FOR MOMS
Water // Again you might be waiting and you might get thirsty. Make the intentional decision to pack some water.
Bag // This is a great time to clean out your purse and get rid of all the things you don’t need. Maybe less gummies and more mom stuff.
