I'm passionate about God, bible literacy, & stewarding what God has entrusted me with.

From college dreams of breaking glass ceilings to homemaking dreams. I never settled, I just discovered that God has a much better plan written for my life. A plan far better than I could have ever dreamed.

Hi there, I'm Lacey, but my friends call me Lace.

Random Facts

Worked in Vet Med for 12 Years

Have been to the doctor more for injuries than illness

Love Japanese food

Cannot grow carrots

Animal Science Major

I’m married to my high school sweetheart and we have two boys. We live in Louisiana and as much as people complain about it, I’m not. Sure we might have mosquitoes, potholes, and not the best political system, but we’ve got the best food and community.

If you would have told me 10-15 years ago about my life now, I would have called you a liar, laughed in your face, and made fun of the person you’re telling me I turned into. Determined to break glass ceilings, I was going to be a successful veterinarian, maybe have some kids, and obviously be married.

But God. In his goodness and mercy, He slammed that door closed and allowed me to see His light. His plan is so much better than I ever could have dreamed. Seriously, this life is so much better.

The last few years have given me the opportunity to grow. Not just aging, but I’ve grown in wisdom. More of God’s grace there. I’ve come to love and yearn to study my Bible. I enjoy spending time in the garden and being in God’s creation.

My goal here is to encourage, inspire, and equip you to know God through His word and His creation.

Get to know me.

Favorite Book

How can I pick one? Recent fav… Devoted by Tim Challies.

Favorite Book of the Bible?

Old Testament: Genesis
New Testament: Revelation

Favorite Snack?

Something savory. Even if I snacked on something sweet, I’ve got to follow it up with something salty.

Favorite Music?

My playlist is a little crazy. Garth Brooks, Justin Timberlake, CityAlight, Journey, Incubus, and everything in between.

Favorite Way to Relax?

Reading a book. Watching a documentary. Playing board games. Gardening. Cooking. Obviously, I’m a granny.

Favorite Thing to Grow?

Herbs and zinnias. I love that adding zinnias to the garden along with milkweed keeps the monarchs and the hummingbirds happy.

Best Part About Being a Mom?

Unconditional love & sanctification. Seriously, motherhood is sanctifying.

Best Part About Being a Wife?

Everything, kinda. But seriously, being a wife is such a gift.

“If you know Jesus, have a book, & a garden…consider yourself rich.”

Joy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Joy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not something that I thought would be a word I ever used to truly describe life. But this life is a joy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Motherhood // Hard. Exhausting. Hilarious. Edifying. Sanctifying. Frustrating. Loving. Joy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Marriage // Hard. Worth it. Also sanctifying.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Friendships, life, church, ministry, traffic....joy. Because of Christ.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is only because of God that there's breath in my lungs. I will sing of His glory all my days. I will study Him, read His word, know Him, love Him, & live out His commands. Joyfully.
They will grow to love what they see us love. They They will grow to love what they see us love. They will witness more of our actions than listen to our words.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How important it is for us to teach our children with actions and words instead of just words.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We must have correct orthodoxy but we must have correct orthopraxy. We must live out the gospel.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When our children see us love God in words and action, they will learn more about our faith.
Last week it was freezing in my house because an i Last week it was freezing in my house because an ice storm knocked out our power. Today it’s sunny and beautiful and I’m showing off my legs today. Really I’m not showing them off but they are enjoying this sun.

This short season I refuse to be concerned/ashamed of...
-the deficits of melanin in my skin. [I literally cannot be less white. Nor will I be applying tanning creams. Not trying to look like DJT. I’ll be red like a crawfish before long.]
-the freckles
-the fact that my calf muscles are bigger than some women’s thighs
-and anything else

Stewarding this body well is what God commanded.
Water. Moving. Sunscreen. Eating less junk. Better skincare since ya know 30s!

This summer will be the best yet. Because I’m less and less concerned with how the world sees me and more and more concerned with how God sees me.

Justified. Being sanctified. Will one day be glorified!
To God be the Glory.
Hold it all up to scripture. This verse from 1 Joh Hold it all up to scripture. This verse from 1 John is reminding us not to believe everything, but to examine it for truth.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Discernment and knowledge come in handy here. We can easily spot lies when we know the truth. We see the same word for test, dokimazo, used in Luke 12:56 & Romans 12:2.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
dokimazo: I put to the test, prove, examine
Original Word: δοκιμάζω⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Part of Speech: Verb⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Transliteration: dokimazo⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Phonetic Spelling: (dok-im-ad'-zo)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Definition: to test, by implication to approve
Usage: I put to the test, prove, examine; I distinguish by testing, approve after testing; I am fit

Are you behind on a reading plan you set out to do Are you behind on a reading plan you set out to do this year? I am! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Partially because I’m studying in depth, partially because I like sleep, partially because I skipped a couple days to read something else. And baseball.

So this morning I loaded the washing machine and set a timer. I finished 1 chapter and then decided I needed to move my body.

There’s no checklist needed. No deadline. No trophy for finishing a reading plan.
But nothing helps you see God like His word.
Nothing makes you want to know more about Him, than studying who He is.

If you would have asked me a few years ago if I would turn off the tv to read Leviticus....I would have laughed at you. Now moving into Numbers and I’m eager to learn more and also study Leviticus again.

If you want some accountability studying...join us @solasistersco !!!
