Have you heard enough of the story? I know Easter was yesterday, but let’s keep going. We skipped a study on Good Friday, mostly because family time and breaks are important. But it’s Monday and we’re going back into Luke. This time it’s the Resurrection and Jesus appearing to His friends. I think this might be my favorite part of the story.
Read: Luke 24:1-7
Notes:
- The first day of the week would have been Sunday at this time.
- They = women
- See also John 20
- The women were coming to finish the proper burial of Jesus after the rush from Friday
- There are no actual recounts to the Resurrection, just the evidence and discovery
- Perplexed = completely baffled; very puzzled.
- Angels announced his birth, angels announced his resurrection
- The angels in their questioning were telling them that Jesus was alive
- Then the angels remind them of Jesus’ own teaching and words that foretold of the occurrence.
