Remember back on day 4 we read that Jesus was telling Peter that he was going to deny him. But Peter was sure that would never happen. Today we’re going to be walking through the reality of what Jesus said would happen. Peter is going to deny Jesus. Not once, not twice, but three times.
Read: Luke 22:54-62
Notes:
- Peter cared enough about Jesus to be concerned about what was happening to him, but he didn’t have the courage to admit he was a friend.
- He tried to blend in around the fire.
- Denials // THREE TIMES. Denies knowing him, denies being a follower, and then he even denies being from Galilee.
- Matthew 26:74 // Says that Peter started to curse. Maybe to even prove that he wasn’t a disciple.
- All it takes for Peter to realize his mistake is Jesus looking at him and then he remembers what Jesus said.
