Read: Luke 23:44-49
Notes:
- The sixth hour is noon
- Darkness shares the despair and sadness
- The ninth hour is 3 pm
- The veil is what separated man from being with God in the temple. Not all were allowed in this location.
- The tearing of the veil means that we now have free access to the presence of God
- The veil is torn from top to bottom to share that no man could have accomplished this.
- John 19:30 says Jesus said tetelestai which means “paid in full”
- Jesus saying “into your hands I commit my spirit” shows us that He was in control and He decided to give His life
- Centurion was a commander of the army who had probably seen many people die and he thought there was something different and remarkable about Jesus’ death
