What Camera Should You Get?

I get asked for camera advice by my family and friends. What sort of camera to buy? Nikon or Canon? What lens…what bag… so many questions. So here’s my answer to which camera should you get…..

I honestly feel like you should get the camera that you feel most comfortable with. Yes, I shoot with Canon but I know plenty of successful photographers that shoot with Nikon. My reason for shooting with Canon…..that’s the camera that I was given. My mom has always had a Canon film camera and we can share some accessories which is an additional plus! I have upgraded my camera body and I stuck with Canon. I haven’t had a problem with it, so if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

If you are looking for a basic dSLR, I’d start with the basic camera. You can shoot gorgeous images with any camera if you learn how to use it correctly. I started with a Rebel xTi(?) and now I have the 5dMarkii. The Rebel’s have gotten more advanced and that would be a great place to start! On the Nikon side……I don’t know the model but they have similar models.

Just do your research, find which one meets your needs and price range, purchase (then stalk the FedEx truck), read your manual, and have fun shooting!!!
