Affiliate Links & How to Support Your Blogger Friends

We all have our favorite bloggers and social media people. I'm sure you personally have friends that are in the mix also. So today I just wanted to take a minute to help you understand their world and explain how YOU can help and support them, even when you don't totally understand them. Affiliate Links You've heard it. You see it. It's not a dirty word. But why is e[...]

Home // Hall Bathroom Makeover Reveal

It's not that the bathroom was horrible before but it wasn't functioning well for us. The pedestal sink was enough to drive me insane. I used to look at it with disgust, praying for the day where I could remove it! So I decided that I was going to take this small project on. The first thing to go was the sink and I immediately felt better about it. I was hoping to do it my[...]

Homemaking // Clean & Tidy Weekly Routine

Our home is far from mess-free. FAR FROM IT! If you walked around, you'd see baskets of clothes to put away, dog hair on things, a missing bathroom mirror, and I bet there are random Lego pieces and trucks somewhere.  To cope with all of this, I stick to our little routine which allows for life to happen without the house falling apart. What works for us is that I cl[...]

Home // Kitchen Prep Before the Holidays

Thanks to Howard Products for sponsoring this post. The cool weather has some sort of hold on me. The first snap and I want to start cooking. Maybe it's because it's not 100 degrees outside, my doors are open, and using my oven doesn't sound miserable. When we found our house and did our kitchen remodel, it was the plan for holidays to be filled with family, friends, and f[...]

Home // Halloween 2017 Decor

Some affiliate links may be used. So Halloween has never been my favorite, but having children has made things a little different. Recently I read someone post about why Christians celebrate a day to let in evil spirits, and I just felt weird about that comment. Yes, we're Christians and yes we're having fun for Halloween. As you can see, our decorations aren[...]

Home // Kid Bathroom Inspiration

This post may contain affiliate links. While the hall bathroom really is for the boys, I use it to because the master bath doesn't have a tub. One day! From the day we moved in, I've wanted to do some work on this bath to make it more fun and less.....contractor like. The pedestal sink has already been replaced with the vanity. The original plan was to paint the bath the s[...]

Toddler Sleep // Creating A Safe Space for Sleep

Thank you to Little Fishkopp for sponsoring this post. This post may contain affiliate links. All reviews and opinions are mine. As a mom, when kids don't sleep, you search. Google. Pinterest. There are literally a million or two articles filled with tips or what to do and what not to do. Do you know how I know this? Because that mom, it was me. When Nate was born and then[...]

Joy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Joy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not something that I thought would be a word I ever used to truly describe life. But this life is a joy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Motherhood // Hard. Exhausting. Hilarious. Edifying. Sanctifying. Frustrating. Loving. Joy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Marriage // Hard. Worth it. Also sanctifying.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Friendships, life, church, ministry, traffic....joy. Because of Christ.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is only because of God that there's breath in my lungs. I will sing of His glory all my days. I will study Him, read His word, know Him, love Him, & live out His commands. Joyfully.
They will grow to love what they see us love. They They will grow to love what they see us love. They will witness more of our actions than listen to our words.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How important it is for us to teach our children with actions and words instead of just words.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We must have correct orthodoxy but we must have correct orthopraxy. We must live out the gospel.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When our children see us love God in words and action, they will learn more about our faith.
Last week it was freezing in my house because an i Last week it was freezing in my house because an ice storm knocked out our power. Today it’s sunny and beautiful and I’m showing off my legs today. Really I’m not showing them off but they are enjoying this sun.

This short season I refuse to be concerned/ashamed of...
-the deficits of melanin in my skin. [I literally cannot be less white. Nor will I be applying tanning creams. Not trying to look like DJT. I’ll be red like a crawfish before long.]
-the freckles
-the fact that my calf muscles are bigger than some women’s thighs
-and anything else

Stewarding this body well is what God commanded.
Water. Moving. Sunscreen. Eating less junk. Better skincare since ya know 30s!

This summer will be the best yet. Because I’m less and less concerned with how the world sees me and more and more concerned with how God sees me.

Justified. Being sanctified. Will one day be glorified!
To God be the Glory.
Hold it all up to scripture. This verse from 1 Joh Hold it all up to scripture. This verse from 1 John is reminding us not to believe everything, but to examine it for truth.

Discernment and knowledge come in handy here. We can easily spot lies when we know the truth. We see the same word for test, dokimazo, used in Luke 12:56 & Romans 12:2.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
dokimazo: I put to the test, prove, examine
Original Word: δοκιμάζω⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Part of Speech: Verb⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Transliteration: dokimazo⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Phonetic Spelling: (dok-im-ad'-zo)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Definition: to test, by implication to approve
Usage: I put to the test, prove, examine; I distinguish by testing, approve after testing; I am fit

Are you behind on a reading plan you set out to do Are you behind on a reading plan you set out to do this year? I am! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Partially because I’m studying in depth, partially because I like sleep, partially because I skipped a couple days to read something else. And baseball.

So this morning I loaded the washing machine and set a timer. I finished 1 chapter and then decided I needed to move my body.

There’s no checklist needed. No deadline. No trophy for finishing a reading plan.
But nothing helps you see God like His word.
Nothing makes you want to know more about Him, than studying who He is.

If you would have asked me a few years ago if I would turn off the tv to read Leviticus....I would have laughed at you. Now moving into Numbers and I’m eager to learn more and also study Leviticus again.

If you want some accountability studying...join us @solasistersco !!!
