God told her that the older would be stronger but would serve the younger. She took this into her own hands. She doubted that God had a plan and decided to take things into her own hands while deceiving her husband and son.
She dies while Jacob is gone. Her age is not known her age at the time. There are historians that say she lived between 120-135 years.
