Children’s Bibles // Reviews
It’s no secret that we love books around here, so of course, we have favorite bibles. When I say children’s bibles, I’m speaking more to the storybook type and less to a specific translation but we will get to that too.
The Gospel Story Bible
The Gospel Story Bible // FAVORITE! Will recommend it to everyone. This is by far the best children’s bible available currently. (Yes, better than Jesus Storybook Bible. See below for that one). We love the accounts and illustrations. Each story has the address for us to find the story in our bibles. My favorite part is that each story includes a gospel presentation and 3 to 4 discussion questions. If you are buying a child a bible, this would be my suggestion.
ESV Kid’s Bible
ESV Kid’s Bible // Our 8-year-old has this bible. The maps and timelines are great. The paper and font size are perfect for his first “real” bible. The leather cover and ribbon bookmark are both ideals for his age. This bible comes in multiple cover colors with different designs depending on the color. If you have a need for purchasing an actual bible for a child, this is my pick.
The Biggest Story Bible Storybook
The Biggest Story Bible Storybook // Though it’s not in my hands YET, I’ve heard nothing but good things about this. We have the book and love it and can’t wait to get this copy. The artwork alone is beautiful.
Jesus Storybook Bible
Jesus Storybook Bible // We actually have 2 copies of this because each child got one for their dedication. The stories are ok, but there’s missing language about sin and the ending is that Jesus saves the whole world. Meaning no story is saying that Jesus saves believers from hell. Is it a horrible book? I don’t think. There are new issues with the author and she seems to be leaning very progressive so I wouldn’t recommend investing in this book, especially when there are other options that are much better.
