The books slowed down a little this month and last, mostly because I’ve had some writing projects and the weather has been nice so we’ve been doing all sorts of fun stuff. But let me share with you the books I’ve loved.
Learning to Speak God from Scratch: Why Sacred Words Are Vanishing–and How We Can Revive Them by Jonathan Merrit // I got this book a while back and put off reading it because my book stack keeps growing. But it’s really good. I’ve got a lot of notes and highlights. I’d definitely recommend it!
Made for This: 40 Days to Living Your Purpose by Jennie Allen // Jennie Allen is a great writer, but I was a little skeptical because I’m slightly over the “purpose” talk that seems so popular. The book is a guided journal and takes you daily through scripture and prompts. Turns out that I really liked the book and am sad that I was so skeptical at first. Thanks to BookLookBloggers for sending this to me.
Irresistible Faith: Becoming the Kind of Christian the World Can’t Resist by Scott Sauls // Thanks to BookLookBloggers for sending this to me. I think this is a good read for someone needing a little boost or new believers. If you’re farther along in your faith journey this book could refresh some thoughts and help you see things from a new believers point of view.
