Transplanting Seedlings // The Rab Farm

January 13, 2017

We started seeds early this year. Our weather is crazy and we’ve just had winter weather last weekend but it’s been pretty great otherwise. We started the seeds early to leave room for us failing. We’ve done the garden before, but not from seeds and not at the size we’re doing this year. So we started a little early.

We started seeds in boxes J made from scrap wood and some soil. And before long we had things sprouting up! Tomatoes. Cucumbers. Summer squash. Peppers. All sorts of things. But not my lavender.

So we transferred them into some cheap plastic cups to allow to them to establish better root systems before the eventually get put into the ground.

Since these pictures they’ve all grown so much more. We’ve had to transfer more to cups. Still no lavender. So I’ll be attempting some lavender again with some other flower seeds. More seeds have been ordered, including some special things for us to try. We’re ordering from Botanical Interests for the rest of our seeds. We’ve heard great things about them, they have good customer service, and hopefully we’ll have some success. Plus the packaging is gorgeous and I want to take pictures. Duh!

Can’t wait to see all these babies produce some yummy goodness.
