Transplanting Seedlings // The Rab Farm

January 13, 2017

We started seeds early this year. Our weather is crazy and we’ve just had winter weather last weekend but it’s been pretty great otherwise. We started the seeds early to leave room for us failing. We’ve done the garden before, but not from seeds and not at the size we’re doing this year. So we started a little early.

We started seeds in boxes J made from scrap wood and some soil. And before long we had things sprouting up! Tomatoes. Cucumbers. Summer squash. Peppers. All sorts of things. But not my lavender.

So we transferred them into some cheap plastic cups to allow to them to establish better root systems before the eventually get put into the ground.

Since these pictures they’ve all grown so much more. We’ve had to transfer more to cups. Still no lavender. So I’ll be attempting some lavender again with some other flower seeds. More seeds have been ordered, including some special things for us to try. We’re ordering from Botanical Interests for the rest of our seeds. We’ve heard great things about them, they have good customer service, and hopefully we’ll have some success. Plus the packaging is gorgeous and I want to take pictures. Duh!

Can’t wait to see all these babies produce some yummy goodness.

Joy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Joy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not something that I thought would be a word I ever used to truly describe life. But this life is a joy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Motherhood // Hard. Exhausting. Hilarious. Edifying. Sanctifying. Frustrating. Loving. Joy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Marriage // Hard. Worth it. Also sanctifying.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Friendships, life, church, ministry, traffic....joy. Because of Christ.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is only because of God that there's breath in my lungs. I will sing of His glory all my days. I will study Him, read His word, know Him, love Him, & live out His commands. Joyfully.
They will grow to love what they see us love. They They will grow to love what they see us love. They will witness more of our actions than listen to our words.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How important it is for us to teach our children with actions and words instead of just words.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We must have correct orthodoxy but we must have correct orthopraxy. We must live out the gospel.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When our children see us love God in words and action, they will learn more about our faith.
Last week it was freezing in my house because an i Last week it was freezing in my house because an ice storm knocked out our power. Today it’s sunny and beautiful and I’m showing off my legs today. Really I’m not showing them off but they are enjoying this sun.

This short season I refuse to be concerned/ashamed of...
-the deficits of melanin in my skin. [I literally cannot be less white. Nor will I be applying tanning creams. Not trying to look like DJT. I’ll be red like a crawfish before long.]
-the freckles
-the fact that my calf muscles are bigger than some women’s thighs
-and anything else

Stewarding this body well is what God commanded.
Water. Moving. Sunscreen. Eating less junk. Better skincare since ya know 30s!

This summer will be the best yet. Because I’m less and less concerned with how the world sees me and more and more concerned with how God sees me.

Justified. Being sanctified. Will one day be glorified!
To God be the Glory.
Hold it all up to scripture. This verse from 1 Joh Hold it all up to scripture. This verse from 1 John is reminding us not to believe everything, but to examine it for truth.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Discernment and knowledge come in handy here. We can easily spot lies when we know the truth. We see the same word for test, dokimazo, used in Luke 12:56 & Romans 12:2.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
dokimazo: I put to the test, prove, examine
Original Word: δοκιμάζω⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Part of Speech: Verb⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Transliteration: dokimazo⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Phonetic Spelling: (dok-im-ad'-zo)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Definition: to test, by implication to approve
Usage: I put to the test, prove, examine; I distinguish by testing, approve after testing; I am fit

Are you behind on a reading plan you set out to do Are you behind on a reading plan you set out to do this year? I am! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Partially because I’m studying in depth, partially because I like sleep, partially because I skipped a couple days to read something else. And baseball.

So this morning I loaded the washing machine and set a timer. I finished 1 chapter and then decided I needed to move my body.

There’s no checklist needed. No deadline. No trophy for finishing a reading plan.
But nothing helps you see God like His word.
Nothing makes you want to know more about Him, than studying who He is.

If you would have asked me a few years ago if I would turn off the tv to read Leviticus....I would have laughed at you. Now moving into Numbers and I’m eager to learn more and also study Leviticus again.

If you want some accountability studying...join us @solasistersco !!!
