Instant Pot Deer Roast

Instant Pot recipes are everywhere. But I couldn’t find any recipes for what to do with the deer roast in our freezer. So I decided to wing it. Turns out it was delicious.

The roast was frozen and into the Instant Pot it went. I diced up some baby carrots, potatoes, onion, and chopped garlic. I threw it all in the pot. I added the broth.
Next step….close the lid and cook for 60 minutes. After the timer chimes, vent to release pressure. Serve & enjoy!

    • Hey Tiffany!
If I’m totally honest, I don’t know what the weight of the roast is. In my own experience a deer roast isn’t large so I’ll say 2-4lbs.
If for some reason the roast doesn’t fall apart, I’d just cook it a little longer.
I’m no instant pot expert (the thing still scares me!!!!) so it’s a lot of trial and error.
Sorry I’m not a big help.

      • A 4-5lb venison roast (I.e. Deer) will not fit properly/at all in an 8 qt instapot. And if you put veggies in with a frozen roast you will end up with mush. Sometimes I wonder if anyone really cooks these dishes. My roast is 2 1/2 lbs and barely fits (frozen) in an 8 quart duo instapot. Hope this helps
